Signs You Might Need Protection From a Termite Infestation

Recognizing the signs of a termite infestation early is crucial for preventing damage. Here are some common signs to watch for:

Wood Damage

Hollowed-out or damaged wood, especially near the base of your home.

Mud Tubes

Termites create mud tubes to travel between their colony and a food source. These tubes are often found on walls, foundations, or floors.

Swarming

Seeing a large number of winged termites inside or outside your home during certain seasons may indicate a nearby colony.

Sawdust Piles

Termites push out sawdust from their tunnels, which can accumulate around areas of infestation.

Quiet Clicking Sounds

Some homeowners report hearing clicking or rustling noises from within walls as termites eat.

We offer Termite Baiting Systems and Liquid Applications, both of which work together to provide effective, lasting protection for your home.

Termite Baiting Systems

Strategic Placement: Our experts place low-profile bait stations around your home’s perimeter.

How It Works: Termites naturally forage for food. When they encounter the bait, they consume it and carry it back to the colony and queen, eventually eliminating the entire colony.

Long-Term Prevention: After eliminating the current colony, the bait continues to protect against future infestations.

Liquid Applications

Barrier Creation: We apply a liquid treatment around your home’s perimeter, creating a barrier in the soil that eliminates termites as they forage.

Comprehensive Treatment: If necessary, we drill through concrete slabs and patios to treat areas that may be more difficult to reach.

Colony Elimination: Termites come in contact with the treated soil and carry the treatment back to the colony, ensuring its elimination.

A dual termite treatment is often required for most homes in Florida due to the state’s dense termite population and warm climate year-round.

Real Estate Pest Inspections in Florida

In the real estate market, everyone knows it’s important to make sure the property is safe and FREE of pests. During our real estate inspections, a Florida Pest specialist will thoroughly inspect all accessible areas in the home, including crawl spaces, basements, attics, garages, and closets. During our real estate pest inspections, we also look for pest damage and vulnerable areas that may lead to future pest infestations.

What is a WDO Report?

Wood-destroying pests are one of the worst pest problems for Florida residents. Water leaks and rotting wood could lead to a wood-destroying pest infestation, which is why it’s important to have regular home pest inspections. A wood-destroying insect report (WDO report) determines the presence or absence of pest evidence or live infestation.

During our real estate pest inspections, a Florida Pest exterminator will look for evidence of the following wood-destroying pests to create a WDO Report:

  • Termites
  • Wood-boring beetles
  • Wood decaying fungi
